REVIEW | TUESDAY ACTION

Action across all four divisions

There was action across our four divisions on Tuesday evening.

In the Pitching In Southern League Premier South, AFC Totton were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Frome Town. It was the visitors who edged in front just past the hour-mark through Rex Mannings as he got his name on the scoresheet for the second game in a row. The lead last barely a minute before Ethan Taylor restored parity and that’s how it remained.

The other game saw Hanwell Town head down to Plymouth Parkway and they were able to make the long journey home with all three points courtesy of a 2-0 triumph as Daniel Carr bagged both goals during the first half.

Over in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central there were two games and both of them took place in the West Midlands as Halesowen Town went top following a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Royston Town. Conor Tee wasted little time in opening the scoring for the Yeltz with a goal within the opening minute and then followed it up with a second midway through the opening period. Harrison Rookard was able to pull a goal back soon afterwards and that was to be the end of the scoring.

Just a few miles down the road, Stourbridge played host to Bedford Town where the game was settled by an early strike from Leon Lobjoit for the visitors. Despite an improved display by the Glassboys after the break, they were unable to find a way through a resolute back-line for the away team who strengthened their position within the leading pack.

The only game in the Pitching In Southern League Division One South saw Didcot Town and Helston Athletic play out a goalless draw. For the visitors it was a much-needed point and clean sheet following a poor run of form, whilst the hosts were relieved not to lose it in stoppage time at the end.

In the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central, there were commanding home wins for both Hadley and Kings Langley.

Two goals from Bently Assiedou, one 15 minutes into the game and the other 15 minutes from the end, helped Kings Langley to a 4-0 triumph over Leverstock Green. Jonathan Lawson and Henry Burt also got their names on the scoresheet either side of the half-time interval.

Meanwhile it was a 3-0 success for Hadley in their encounter with Thame United. Jesse Effa set them on their way with a tenth minute strike before Luke Alfano doubled their advantage in the opening exchanges of the second half. The scoring was rounded off by Caoilan Mcgettigan on the hour.

The remaining game saw Hertford Town win away at North Leigh. Ben Herd put his side ahead in the first half and then Adeniyi Gbolahan made the points safe ten minutes from time.
