There was action across all four of our divisions on Tuesday evening.
In the Pitching In Southern League Premier South, AFC Totton kept up the pressure on the leaders thanks to a 2-1 away win at Chertsey Town. Sam Magri gave them the lead as half-time approached, only for Oliver Turner to cancel it out just minutes later. The all-important winning goal came with 15 minutes to go when Rod Collins found the net to secure an important three points.
There was a late winner from Archie Ferris to give Frome Town victory over Hanwell Town, a result which moves the hosts closer to those teams just above the relegation zone.
Over in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central, a Dan Sweeney brace was enough to give Alvechurch victory over their Worcestershire rivals, Bromsgrove Sporting. Sweeney bagged a first half brace against one of his former clubs before Billy Shaw pulled a goal back with 20 minutes to go but it wasn’t enough.
The other game finished in a goalless stalemate between Stourbridge and Banbury United.
There was no lack of goals in the Pitching In Southern League Division One South with ten of them coming at Helston Athletic’s home clash with Cinderford Town. The away team, who sit bottom of the table, recorded an amazing 8-2 win. Alex Bonthron led the way with five of the goals, whilst there was a brace for Ismail Yakubu and Marley Thomas hit the other.
Meanwhile at the other end of the table, Evesham United strengthened their position in second place with a 3-1 triumph over Bideford. Levi Steele set them on their way on the quarter-hour mark and whilst the recently returned Mattie Buchan levelled matters soon afterwards, Steele wasted little time in getting them back in front. A third goal early in the second half from Amer Awadh killed off any hopes of another comeback from the away team.
In the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central, leaders, Real Bedford, made short work of bottom of the table, North Leigh, with a 3-0 away win. Drew Richardson and Jack Morrell scored in the first half with Isaac Galliford on the mark midway through the second period.
Leighton Town are steadily moving up the table and they chalked up a 2-1 victory over Kidlington with Kyal Williams setting them on their way before Godlove Oppong doubled their advantage just before the hour. A late goal from Fraser Allen proved to be mere consolation for the visitiors.
There was away joy for Hertford Town as they came from behind to secure a 2-1 triumph at Northwood, for whom Troy Perez-Duah gave them a first half lead. Adeniyi Gbolahan restored parity in the early exchanges of the second period and then Ryan Palomeque Bernal won it.
The other game finished all square as AFC Dunstable and Hadley played out a 1-1 draw. Sean Duodu put the hosts ahead midway through the second half before parity was restored courtesy of a late penalty which was coolly despatched by Billy Hayes.
