Between them, Walton & Hersham and Gloucester City have scored 171 goals in the Pitching In Southern League Premier South this season.
Both teams have produced some entertaining moments over the course of the campaign and games between the two teams have been no different with a 4-4 draw followed by a dramatic late away win for Walton & Hersham in the return fixture.
Now they go head-to-head on Wednesday evening with a place in the play-off final up for grabs.
Appearing in all but one of the Swans’ League games this season is Mason Obeng. He has played a key role in what is a young and energetic side that took third place with an impressive 83 points to their name.
“I have been really pleased with the contribution that I have been able to make,” Obeng told us. “The management have been brilliant and they have put together a really talented young team that plays the game the right way.
“It’s great to be part of it and now we’ll be looking to take that next step in the play-offs. We’re all really excited for Wednesday’s game to come around. This is a great opportunity for us to continue our good form this year.
“Not every player gets to experience this type of occasion; there’s sure to be a large and vocal crowd as we come up against opponents who are looking to bounce straight back up to Step 2 at the first attempt.
“Based on our games against them this season, it’s going to be entertaining and dramatic. Hopefully we’ll come out on the right end of the scoreline come the final whistle.
“We’re more of a technical team so to have finished in the top three in what is a generally physical League is a real achievement. We’ve been consistent and showed our skill and now the aim is to take that into the play-offs.”
