PLAY-OFF FINALS | REVIEW

An entertaining afternoon to end the 2024/25 season

Play-off finals day across our four divisions and it was great to see such fantastic attendances at all four games, which produced plenty of entertainment.

In the Pitching In Southern League Premier South, we send our congratulations to AFC Totton who secured a hard-earned victory over Gloucester City thanks to a goal 20 minutes from time by Ethan Taylor. The 1-0 victory secured Step 2 status for Jimmy Ball’s side following a campaign which saw them finish second in the table having lost just four of their 42 League games.

Over in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central, we congratulate AFC Telford United after they came out on the right side of a six-goal thriller at Kettering Town. Nile Ranger out the home team ahead towards the end of the first half and then Wes York doubled the advantage at the start of the second period. It didn’t take long for Orrin Pendley to pull a goal back before Jahdhan Fridye-Harper levelled on the hour. With the momentum in their favour, Jordan Piggott put the visitors ahead on 67 minutes before Rhys Hilton rounded things off at the death.

The Pitching In Southern League Division One South saw an all Worcestershire affair as Evesham United played host to Malvern Town. In what was a tight and nervy encounter, played before a crowd of almost 3,000, it was the hosts who nicked it with a goal just past the hour from Levi Steele. We send our congratulations to all at the club as they look forward to life back at Step 3.

Finally, in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central, Berkhamsted swept to promotion courtesy of another commanding 5-0 triumph, this time over Flackwell Heath. JJ Lacey set them on their way with the opening goal as the interval approached. They turned the screw after the break with goals from Matty Bateman, who bagged a brace, Connor Tomlinson and a second from Lacey. Congratulations on a job well done to all at the club.
