The captain’s armband will adorn a very familiar arm at Taunton Town during the campaign ahead.
No-nonsense central defender, Nick Grimes, returned to the Pitching In Southern League Premier South club during the early part of last season following a spell at Bath City.
Previously the former Exeter City youngster had skippered the club to promotion into The National League South in 2022 and remained captain during their two seasons at Step 2 level.
“These are exciting times for the club,” he told his club's media. “It’s more of a project here now compared to my previous spell. We’re building for the future and getting things right and sustainable both on and off the pitch.
“It feels like we are really building something and it’s great to be part of it.
“Not too much will change now I have the armband back; it’ll be business as usual. I conduct myself in the same way regardless of what title I have, that’s just the way I am.
“Obviously it is an honour to be able to captain this great club again and it’s a role that I take very seriously.
“I’ll keep doing what I’m doing and influence where I can. Last season we finished just inside the top ten and now our sights are set on making a challenge for the play-offs.
“The Premier South is going to be highly competitive again this year; there’s some good clubs involved but we know what we’re capable of and we’re ready for the challenge.”
Amidst the new on the pitch arrivals, manager, Richard Luffman, has also appointed Liam Harding as assistant manager alongside Steve Murray.
