The 2025/26 fixtures came out on Friday lunchtime and were eagerly-anticipated by all of our member clubs.
Over at AFC Dunstable, it’s a home start to their Pitching In Southern League Division One Central campaign as they welcome a Northwood outfit who ended last season strongly.
“We’re at home, so we’re happy about that and we’ll be looking to make a positive start,” manager, James Townsend, told us. “With the likes of Hitchin Town and Biggleswade Town coming into the League it will make it even stronger, whilst there will be clubs with big budgets who will also be pushing hard and I expect Leighton Town to be up right up there too.
“That said, we’re being bold this season too and our target is promotion. A lot of hard work on the training pitch is required to be able to do that, but I believe in the squad we have here. Last season was a real learning curve for our young players but we’re more experienced and better physically this time around.
“We’re desperate to do well and we’re really looking forward to taking on the challenge of the season. Having the fixtures out means that it’s getting closer; we had a good break where we recharged our batteries and now we’ve come back fully focussed and with the bit between our teeth.
“The core of the players that we finished last season with has been retained and we’ve added five or six new faces who have all fitted in well. We’re very happy with where we’re at right now; last season we lifted the Bedfordshire Senior Cup and it’s whetted our appetite for more silverware… the League trophy would be nice!”
