Bishop’s Stortford go into the Bank Holiday weekend with a spring in their step having won all three of their games so far to sit pretty at the top of the embryonic Pitching In Southern League Premier Central table.
They are one of only two teams in the Premier Central to emerge from the opening three games with their 100% record still intact.
“It’s been a great start to the season,” said Luka Chalwell with a smile. “Three games, three wins and a goal for myself as well, I’m happy with that!
“The feeling around the club is really positive and we are eager to build momentum off the back of these victories and the performances that have gone with them.
“We’ve put together a solid group of players this year, one which we feel can be competitive at this level and there’s no ceiling on what we can go on to achieve this season.
“A busy schedule lies ahead over the Bank Holiday weekend, but I wouldn’t want it any other way, to be honest. I can’t wait to play more games and hopefully add to our winning run.
“We go to Stratford Town on Saturday and although they have had a slow start to the season, what I’ve found since I joined the club in February is that no game is easy. Every opponent can be a threat on their day so you have to be switched on at all times.
“Then on Monday we get back on home soil, which I’m looking forward to, as we host Royston Town.
“The teams in this League are very direct and physical, so I am expecting a tough but enjoyable campaign ahead. The aim is to win more games than we did last season and continue to work hard to achieve our goals.
“Hopefully I can make an impact and play my part.”
