Real Bedford are on a roll. Saturday’s 3-1 triumph at Stamford AFC was their seventh Pitching In Southern League Premier Central victory in their last eight outings.
It’s a run that leaves the new-boys sitting in third place in the table, just four points off pole position.
An essential ingredient in their adjustment to this level of football has been Conor Tee, who has led from the front this term, drawing upon every ounce of his Step 3 know-how and experience.
We asked him what was the secret behind this fantastic run of form.
“I think it comes down to having a clear identity that everyone has bought into,” he told us. “There’s a real belief and togetherness within the group, and that’s showing in our performances every week.
“On Saturday, it was another really good win away from home. We were ruthless in the first half, going 3–0 up, and then showed our togetherness and work-rate in the second period to make sure we came away with the three points.
“On a personal level, it was great to get on the scoresheet again and help the team. I’ve been happy with my performances and feel I’m in a good rhythm at the moment, so long may it continue!
“As a team, we’re really showing what we’re about both in and out of possession. We’ve put ourselves in a strong position, and now it’s about continuing to build on that.
“The Premier Central is just as competitive as any other season. There are no easy games in this League - every week you have to work hard and dig in to earn the three points and that is something the team has learned since the opening weeks.”
So, what are the aims and targets for 2025/26?
“For me, it’s about maintaining my performance levels and continuing to contribute with goals and assists to help the team,” Tee responded. “Collectively, we want to keep the momentum we’ve built so far and keep improving.
“If we do that, I’m confident we’ll be in a strong position come the end of the season.”
Tee and his team-mates head to Alvechurch on Saturday.
