Former Southern League officer passes away

The Southern League are sad to report the passing of Tony Stone.

Tony was the League’s Ground Grading and Floodlight co-ordinator between 2017 and 2023, passing the Ground Grading baton to David Knight and becoming his assistant.

Before joining the Southern League, he was an officer with the Western League and was a long term officer at the Gloucestershire FA since 1970.

In June 2023, Tony was presented with an award in appreciation of his work by then Chairman, Anthony Hughes, as pictured here.
