Impressive away win as Premier Central new-boys march on

Quorn continued their march at the weekend with a third straight win, during which time they have scored 11 goals, as they went to fellow high-flyers, Needham Market, and came home with an impressive 3-0 triumph.

The result saw them leapfrog their hosts to move into third place in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central table.

“It was a class win on the road,” beamed Deen Master. “We dealt with everything that was thrown at us and emerged as worthy winners in the end.

“We went there with a game plan and followed it to the very last detail to get a big three points and a well-deserved clean sheet too.

“We pride ourselves on keeping clean sheets and then letting our attacking players go and do their thing.

“It’s serving us well so far; we’re half-way through the season and sitting third in the table, so we have to be pleased with that.

“It’s credit to the group for how hard everyone has worked and what the Gaffer does for us and the way he has set us up this season following promotion into this level.

“I am happy to play my part. Everyone is on the same page and fighting for each other, which counts for a lot as we prepare for the battles ahead.

“Going into the season we knew how difficult this League was and we’ve made sure that we just take things one step at a time.

“The games continue to come thick and fast and never get any easier; we just give it all we’ve got and see where it takes us.

“There’s no ceiling to what we can achieve; it’s down to us to keep plugging away and maintaining the high standards that we have set ourselves.

“Ultimately we’ve only done half a job so far and we know that there is still a long way to go, but we’re in a good place.

“Personally I hope to stay fit and keep contributing, whether that’s with assists or helping us keep clean sheets at the other end of the field.”

It’s another encounter with a team close to them in the table on Tuesday evening as they host a Redditch United outfit who sit two places and two points behind them. It's a game that is being streamed live on ClubberTV.
