It’s fair to say that the first half of the season has been something of a roller-coaster for Bracknell Town.
They are currently enjoying an impressive run of form with Jack Mazzone joining the Pitching In Southern League Premier South club at the end of November and doing what he does best with six goals from his six games, including a brace in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Farnham Town.
“Saturday was a great day for the whole club,” Mazzone told us. “There was such a great turn-out for a cold winter’s day and the atmosphere that the fans created was absolutely superb.
“The team and fans have been second-to-none since I have been at the club. The preparation that the management team put in is amazing and it’s paying dividends with results and performances like Saturday.
“We were able to show different sides to our game and I am grateful to those around me that I was able to get the chances that I was able to take to help us get the victory.
“Things are moving rapidly forward on and off the pitch and that’s credit to everyone doing their bit to make it happen. There’s such a positive feeling around the place and that made it so welcoming for me when I first arrived.
“The Premier South is very different this season. It’s a lot tighter and there are more teams up there challenging.
“Football has changed over the last few years, but personally my aims remain the same each season; to be the best version of myself and have my highest ever return. Last year was my best so far, so on that basis, 27 as a minimum, is my target.
“As for the club, the way we’re playing and climbing the table, the aim has to be the play-offs.”
A trip to Basingstoke Town gets 2026 underway for the Robins on Saturday.
