MY LEAGUE, MY SHIRT | GET INVOLVED

New initiative launched to promote equality and diversity

The Southern Football League, in conjunction with the Football Supporters Association, are organising “My League, My Shirt”.

It’s an initiative which aims to promote equality and inclusivity at our member clubs.

Our volunteers and supporters are the lifeblood of our clubs, and we know that you all do a remarkable job in making your clubs inclusive environments, this allows anyone and everyone the opportunity to enjoy football.

This campaign is a simple one!

We believe that visual representation is a powerful tool in bringing people together and that football is the perfect conduit to making that happen. Fusing football and photography together, promotes equality in the most picturesque way.

We would like each club to reach out to their volunteers and supporters and find a representative who is willing to share a photo of themselves in their club shirt or jacket, scarf or tie.

As this is an equality campaign, we want the imagery to show that regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation that your club is welcoming, inclusive and a place for absolutely everyone. The image can be of individuals wearing any clearly identifiable clubwear.

Please submit photographic entries to sfl.diversity@gmail.com, ideally with a brief comment from the person in the photograph highlighting why the club is important in their life. If the submission is from an under 18, then also provide written permission from parent/guardian for the photograph to be published in promotional articles in-print and online.
