“It was a good win in the circumstances but also a big relief in the end. We were so dominant for long periods, missed some good chances and generally worked them very hard defensively but then gave away a really bad goal to let them back in.

Credit to the players though who kept going and deservedly found a winner from a ball that we recycled numerous times.

Before the game last Saturday we said we wanted at least six points from this opening week.

We’ve done this and also most likely got the hardest game of the season out of the way so we can certainly look back on this as a good week overall.”
