Weymouth will not roll over

Weymouth manager Mark Molesley was defiant in light of his side’s 2-2 draw with Hartley Wintney in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South, taking full responsibility and insisting that the Terras ‘will not roll over, we will not die.’

The Terras themselves put in a dominant late show to drag themselves from 2-0 down after 77 minutes to drawing 2-2 at full time and nearly snatching a late winner through Brandon Goodship in injury time.

Molesley said: “This team will not roll over, we will not die. Yes, we were not at our best but we kept going, we kept plugging away and I think that is a real positive.

“Yes, the results have not followed for the last few weeks.”

Molesley admitted his side need to manage games a bit better and take their chances when they are on top.

Molesley said: “One when we are on top we need to take our chances and then two when we are having a bit of a spell we need to manage it a little bit better. That is for me to sort out.”

However, he took full responsibility for the results that have also included a 4-3 loss at Farnborough when his side was leading 3-1 at half-time, followed by the draw at home to Hartley Wintney.

In that time the Terras also exited the FA Cup at the first qualifying round stage after drawing 1-1 at home to Banbury United and losing 2-1 away in the replay.

Molesley said: “When we lose it is my fault. When we do not quite win it is my fault when we do win it is the players’.

“I take full responsibility and it is up to me to address some of the frailties that we have shown at the moment.

“I am convinced that I have got the right characters, the right players and at the moment it is just a bit of a sticky spell but we have still got a point (against Hartley Wintney) we are a little bit down but we are definitely not out.”
