Second-half fightback pleases Holmes

Worked our socks off.

Danny Holmes was pleased with his side's second-half performance as Wimborne Town battled back to draw with Truro City at Cuthbury. High-flying Truro led 1-0 at the break thanks to a Carl Pettefer own goal, but a Stefan Penny penalty levelled the contest before Adel Gafaiti was sent off for the visitors.

Billy Maybury completed the turnaround with a long-range strike, but the Southern League South contest ended 2-2 after Luke Jephcott tucked in a spot-kick

"I felt it was an excellent performance in the end. "I felt we didn't start very lively. We looked sloppy in our warm-up and in every area I felt we were a little bit slow to the mark.

"Second half, we came right out at them and we worked our socks off as well as them and we created more opportunities.

"I know what we can do and after we problem-solved at half-time, we had more effort and we looked more on the front foot. I think we need to do that more consistently."
