Grocott expecting tough examination

Stourbridge away at Biggleswade Town

Will Grocott is expecting another tough examination at the hands of Biggleswade Town when the Glassboys return to Southern Premier Division Central action at Langford Road (Kick-Off 3pm)

He was an unused substitute in Tuesday night's FA Trophy score draw with Lancaster City but started the previous two games, including last weekend's FA Cup First Round tie with Eastleigh where the former Stratford Town man put the Glassboys 2-1 ahead seven minutes into the second half. Although Grocott is pleased to have made the scoresheet last weekend in the FA Cup, he's happy to be back involved with the squad after several injuries so far this campaign.

"It was a good feeling being on the scoresheet, but the main thing is it's good to be back playing and being involved with the squad," he said. "I've had one or two knocks during the season so far, so I'm looking to get back on top form and help the team pick up as many points as we can in the coming games.

"Saturday will be a very tough examination - they're a good side, but we know the qualities that we possess going into the game. We haven't played many games in the league of late, so we need to be ready for the game."

Tuesday night's draw with Lancaster City left boss Ian Long disappointed given the Glassboys raced into a two-goal lead in the opening 45 minutes, but the former Aston Villa trainee feels there is much to take from the performance
"We were very disappointed after the game, naturally. We were 2-0 up and cruising, and then we allowed them back into the game just prior to the half-time whistle.

"But we played some excellent one and two touch football again, Anthony Dwyer made an impression upfront on his debut, so although we didn't want a replay and another game to our schedule, it is what it is, and we have to get on with it."
