Yate Town's title hopes took a massive dent as they were beaten 4-1 by league leaders Blackfield and Langley

The visitors were dominating throughout and deservedly took the lead in the 27th minute through Liam Robbinson after a mix up in the host's box following a cross by Lerone Plummer.

Yate equalised in the second half through Jack Twyman, only for Plummer to level up from close range just a minute later.

Plummer added his second to make sure of the victory before Bearwish made it four to finish Yate off.

The result leaves Paul Britton's side four points behind their opponents with just three games remaining meaning it's going to be a tough ask for the Bluebells to go up automatically.

Much like last weeks game it was the away side who began the stronger, Plummer, in particular, was causing the hosts defence a number of problems.

The away sides intensity was causing the Bluebells plenty of problems and they had an appeal for a penalty turned down after Plummer was clipped in the area.

Blackfield were really at it in the first half and should've led just before they scored with good combination play between Plummer and Robinson but the former's effort was well saved by James Carey in the Yate goal.

Despite being well up against it in the first half, Yate did create opportunities of their own the best of which came through skipper Nick Peare who forced Lewis Noice into a smart save following a brilliant free-kick delivery from Josh Ford.

The away side continued to dominate, but the Bluebells did make it through to half time at just 1-0 when it could have easily of been more.

The hosts began the second half really strongly and felt like they should have had a penalty when Mehew was pushed in the box before clearance by Samuel Poole was misjudged and nearly went into his own net.

Yate's fast start continued when they equalised through Twyman in the 58th minute, it came following a brilliant cross-field ball by Josh Ford, who picked out Nicholas Humphreys on the left, who placed a brilliant cross to Twyman who applied the finish.

The Bluebells were level for just one minute as the away side shortly equalised through Plummer from close range after a cross on the left by scorer of the first goal Robbinson.

The home side was much better in the early stages after the break in what was a very tight opening to the second period, although Blackfield were dominant in the first half.

Plummer was again involved as the away side looked for a third and he was played through on goal by Robinson, but Sam Boulton was there to stop the forward and clear the danger.

Adam Tomasso also had a decent effort to extend the advantage but his half volley went narrowly over the top as Yate stayed in the game.

Plummer made sure of the victory in the last couple of minutes on the counter-attack, calmly slotting past Carey to preserve their place at the top of the table.

In the closing stages, Yate saw another penalty appeal turned down when Mehew was tripped in the box.

Peare came close to getting one back for the hosts from a free kick after Sam Kamara was tripped just outside the box, but he narrowly missed the target.

Plummer's second came on the counter-attack as he applied a low finish into the bottom corner of the net beyond Carey, before Bearwish made it 4-1 applying the finish after Plummer's effort was saved.
