Cinderford Town manager Paul Michael has called for his side to keep up a great run of form against Thatcham Town on Saturday, as the Foresters look to gate-crash in on the play-offs in their final 9 league games.
Cinderford go into the game at the Causeway unbeaten in 7 games in all competitions and have won their two other games in March, both by two goals to one. Last weekend they beat Blackfield & Langley, who find themselves top of the Southern League Division One South, but Michael says that his side needs to be consistent against sides below them too.
“Having been on a good run we, of course, want that to continue, Thatcham are a good side and in sport what you’ve done previously counts for absolutely nothing when you cross that whitewash for your next encounter.
Beating the league leaders was worth 3 points and likewise, this Saturday is worth 3 points, regardless of the opponent.” Michael added.
Michael’s men currently occupy 7th place in the table and find themselves just five points outside the playoffs, with as many as two games in hand on sides in and around them. But the Cinderford boss isn’t letting his side’s unbeaten run get ahead of him and knows there is still a long way to go if Cinderford are to extend their season.
