Ollie has even tried to claim it

Race for Golden Boot is on

Poole Town defender Will Spetch has said that Ollie Dennett 'must be looking over his shoulder in the club's golden boot race' after the winger on loan from Havant and Waterlooville claimed he got a touch on the ball for the Dolphins third goal against Yate Town on Saturday. The Dolphins ran out 3-0 winners against the newly-promoted side but much of the talk following the game is about who scored the third goal. Footage from TBTVSport shows that the ball did take a slight change of path but questions of whether Dennett got a touch to remain.

Speaking to pooletownfc.co.uk, Spetch said: "It was 100% my goal, only touch on the way through was from the keeper. I can't believe Ollie has tried to claim it! He must be looking over his shoulder in the golden boot race."Scoring goals is something I definitely need to do more of!" added Spetch. The victory also marked the first clean sheet of the season for the Dolphins, something that brings great satisfaction to the centre-half.

He said: "It was massive to get the first clean sheet of the season, it's something we didn't do enough of last year. Clean sheets win you leagues.

"Having a consistent back four is very important, something we haven't had in the last two seasons due to injuries but fingers crossed everyone stays fit. Luke [Cairney] is a massive part of our defensive line too, not afraid to come off his line and sweep up."Poole has picked up six points from the first possible nine, Spetch added: "It's been a very positive start to the season. The game against Tiverton is one we need to forget, there's no doubt that if Ollie's red hadn't have been given we probably would have picked up three points."
