Bromsgrove suffered a 2-1 defeat at the Victoria Ground to a Hitchin Town side who are 17th. After a poor first half, it was the Canaries who broke the deadlock 5 minutes after the restart when Daniel Webb was adjudged to have been brought down in the box and Layne Eadie converted the resulting penalty. Then on the hour-mark, Alex Marsh deservedly put Hitchin two-up. Will Shorrock reduced the deficit in the 74th minute but not even the introduction of star new signing Reece Styche could help Sporting get anything from the game.

Hitchin contested the ball with real application and as such, they deserved not to hang on but to see the game to its conclusion. It was a deserved win on the road for the Canaries and owes much to the team selection and the fine timing of the substitutions.
