A fair result in the end

PICS’ boss, Liam McDonald, has given his verdict on our opening day draw against Banbury United.
“It was a fair result in the end,” he admitted. “We worked hard and deserved something out of our game for our endeavour in the second half.

“It’s fair to say that it wasn’t a great game; we didn’t really get out of second gear, but that said it still took a wonder-strike to catch us out.
“We never looked like winning and we never looked like losing, to be honest. We had to shuffle the pack a little but we stuck together to get something out of the game.

“You don’t want to lose your first game, so we’ll take the point and move on to the next one.
“As one of the smallest clubs in the League, people are expecting us to be up there challenging this season and maybe that pressure weighed a bit heavy on the shoulders of the players today.”
