In form teams clash

FA Trophy

Bromsgrove Sporting v Corby Town

This weekend, one of the ties of the round pits together the top two sides in the Evo-Stik Division One Central. The Steelmen travel to the Victoria Ground to take on league leaders Bromsgrove Sporting in the Buildbase FA Trophy Extra Preliminary Round.

Bromsgrove have taken to Step 4 like a duck to water, 4 wins and 2 draws in the league, a 100% home league record, the only slight on the record books this season both came in cup competitions. Sporting went down 4-3 in a keenly contested match at Alvechurch in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup, and then falling victim again to the Church in the Southern League Challenge Cup.

The Steelmen head into this match full of confidence on the back of a fantastic 4-1 win away at Sportings conquerors, Alvechurch, in the 2nd qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup. This was on the back of an 8-1 win in the last league match away at North Leigh, with Corby sitting 1 point and 1 place below the hosts in the league table, albeit having played one game less.
