Josh needs no introduction to City fans, as he started his career with the Lilywhites before returning to the club for a second spell after a period at Cambridge United. In 2008, he moved onto Histon before Peterborough gave him his first opportunity in the professional game.
But it was at Crawley Town where he made his name making 148 appearances and scoring 12 goals over a 4 year period. In later years he has had spells with both Plymouth Argyle and Bishops Stortford - the latter coinciding with a move out of full time football to take up a new career in property management.
Commenting on his return to City, the 31 year old said “I have been talking with Robbie Nightingale for a few weeks now and I cannot wait to get started. I have been training with Royston Town so I am fit and raring to go. I am thrilled to be returning to one of my previous clubs that I hold dear to my heart. The club also has many happy memories for me especially as it is where I started my career”.
City manager Robbie Nightingale said “I am delighted to have secured the signing of such an experienced and accomplished player. Josh knows all about the club and he will be a great role model and will help all the younger players in the squad. This is an exciting signing for us and I am sure that our supporters will really be looking forward to welcoming Josh back to City”.
