Ian Culverhouse believes that all the pressure will be on Kettering Town at the weekend when they visit The Walks in the Southern Premier Central Division
The Poppies hold the second spot in the league with the Linnets 13 points behind them in third place with both teams having played 20 games.
Leaders Stourbridge has a four-point advantage but has played three matches more than their closest rivals – a fact the Lynn boss is convinced will weigh heavily on visiting minds on Saturday.
"I’m sure they will be thinking about that gap come the weekend," said Culverhouse.
"They had a slip or two a few weeks ago which has tightened things up a little up at the top but great credit to them in that recently the results have begun to come for them again.
"They are a very good side and Marcus (Law) has done a very good job with them again this season. I’m sure they will fancy automatic promotion this time around – we all would – but only one team can gain it and the others have to make do with the play-off lottery.
"By winning the league you take away all of that uncertainty and at the moment they are in a good position to achieve that.
"From our point of view, we have to keep going out to win as many matches as we can and accumulate the best total of points we can and then see where we stand.
"We have begun this busy spell with two good results and it would be nice to continue the form for the rest of the holiday games."
The Linnets comfortably beat local rivals Lowestoft Town on Boxing Day thanks to an Adam Marriott treble in a 4-0 success whilst the Poppies were securing a 2-1 win on the road at Bedworth United.
