It was always going to represent a tough test, it’s the best Harrow side I’ve seen in many years and Steve Baker has done a fantastic job.
In my view, Harrow has every chance of sustaining their league position.
I’m very proud of my players. The way the game played out, to be leading going into the final stages says everything about the group and they found energy levels today beyond anything I’ve seen.
They were magnificent again. These types of games come along once in a while and they are always hard to take.
My players are gutted but massively upbeat. We can all see the positives in defeat. They’ve lost a very proud record, it was always going to come to an end but I don’t think any of us predicted the manner of defeat.
I’ve insisted my players leave the officials alone which I admit proved difficult for all of us, football is an emotional game.
The Officials have a difficult job, it wasn’t a difficult game to officiate so you just hope for a measured performance. I wanted to go and see the officials after but decided against it. It changes nothing apart from the possibility of my emotions getting the better of me and that wouldn’t have helped.
It would be churlish of me to start commenting about the officials after a defeat. If we’d have won then perhaps I could have talked about it but for now we simply move on and look to start another exciting chapter in our season.
