Linnets ease defensive problems

Second signing in a week

King's Lynn Town have gone a long way to alleviating their defensive crisis at The Walks by completing the signing of Jake Kerins from Bury Town.

The highly-rated Kerins arrives at The Walks from the Bostik North Division outfit and Lynn's latest acquisition comes hot on the heels of centre-back Joe Robinson who put pen-to-paper for the club last week.

Before last week, the Linnets only had five fully-fit defenders in their ranks.

Kerins, 20, will provide useful cover for long-term injury Aaron Jones who has undergone surgery on a troublesome knee problem

The versatile youngster, who can operate at right-back or in the heart of the defence, was part of the Mildenhall Town FA Trophy team that knocked the Linnets out of the FA Trophy at The Walks back in 2017/18.

Lynn submitted a seven-day approach for the former Shrewsbury trainee, who was part of the Sky Bet League One club’s academy for two seasons, earlier this week.
