Two New Trawlerboys Ahead of Leaders Visit

Relegation-threatened Lowestoft Town boosted their squad ahead of Saturday`s narrow 1-0 defeat by Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division Central leaders Kettering Town with two new signings.

The Trawlerboys brought in attacking midfielder Dylan Williams from league rivals Biggleswade Town and Rio Douglas on `work experience` from SkyBet League One side Peterborough United.

Williams had only joined the Waders from another Southern Premier Central outfit, St Neots Town, in January after the Saints his financial problems.

He had signed for St Neots in the summer of 2018 following a successful trial after leaving League Two side Cambridge United at the end of last season.

The 22-year-old midfielder was released by United, having been part of their academy from the age of 9.

Williams’ only appearance came in United’s 7-0 thrashing of Morecambe – a club record Football League win - in April 2016.

He had spells on loan at Wealdstone and at AFC Sudbury last season, where he played under current Trawlerboys` boss Jamie Godbold.

Eighteen-year-old Rio Douglas is the younger brother of Kasey Douglas, who made his debut for Peterborough in 2016.
