Cannot let it slip

Metropolitan Police v Wimborne Town

MATTY Holmes admits Wimborne Town will need to overcome a "very tough" Met Police side to take a big step towards Southern League South survival.

Magpies sit 11th and six points above the relegation zone with nine games to play after losses against Salisbury and Hartley Wintney.

Holmes's charges visit ‎Imber Court hoping to avoid a third defeat in a row.

However, the Wimborne boss expects another difficult test against the Surrey outfit.

Holmes told the Daily Echo: "It will be a very tough game and they are coming thick and fast at the moment. Salisbury last week, Met Police this week and Weymouth next week.

"We came out of a good run with a couple of defeats but the boys are still upbeat. "Now we need to somehow get over the line and pick up two or three wins to see us home but it is not a given. You can go quite a run of games without a win as we found earlier in the season.

"We need to make sure, tactically, we get it right and everyone produces on the day, which we had done before the two defeats.

"The lads have been brilliant and we cannot let it slip now."
