#SFL Match Preview

We are bang in form

Ahead of Saturday’s Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central encounter away to Welwyn Garden City, manager Bren Kelly has previewed the fixture, looking at our weekend off, our opponents and an update on the squad and, in particular, those who have been injured of late.

“This Saturday, we travel to one of the furthest away fixtures in the division, against Welwyn Garden City, a fellow promoted side from Step Five.

“They gave us a really good game at the VG under then manager Adam Fisher, who has since moved on, so I would imagine it will be a very different side now so, again, it’s a trip into the unknown in some respects, but I have managed to get them looked at so I do have some info that will hopefully aid us in our hunt for a 7th win in a row.

“We are bang in form, as we have been most of the season, so we are confident of getting something from the game.

“With the exception of Shozza (Will Shorrock), we have a full-strength squad available, with Rich Gregory, Tom Taylor, Nathan Hayward and Charlie Dowd all available again.

“The lads were given a well deserved weekend off last week, as we had no game, and should be fully refreshed ahead of the game.

“It will mean more selection headaches for myself and Andy, but I welcome that situation.

“It’s imperative we continue to express ourselves and keep trying to play decent attacking football – we currently sit at 103 goals in all competitions this season, which is fantastic for a debut season at the level, and recently, we have certainly improved at the other end and as a whole team, which is positive.

“We must try to win the game to keep the faint hopes of the title alive and keep trying to pick up maximum points in our remaining games.

“I and Mason will discuss whether we are going to add to the squad for the run in, but we won’t be making any knee jerk decisions and will be very careful in what we decide to do, as we don’t want to derail the good work the current squad have done thus far.
