Division 1 Central - Match of the Day ?

#SFL Match Preview

Ahead of Saturday’s Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central encounter versus Corby Town, manager Bren Kelly has previewed the match, including praise for his squad, injury latest and a rallying cry for a big turnout.

“This Saturday, we face Corby in a first versus third clash at the top end of the division.

“After seven wins from the last seven, the squad are feeling confident going into the game, but we are also very aware of how difficult this game will be, having lost to Corby twice already this season.

“I do feel we have improved very much since we played them last and that week was certainly one to forget, as we lost to Bedford too.

“However, the circumstances surrounding that particular week were not ideal for the club and the squad.

“I always said we would have to evolve and learn quickly as we go through the campaign and we certainly have done that as a team and individually throughout the squad.

“I must praise the attitude of the squad the last few weeks – they have really remained focused and have picked up wins in a very good style and manner.

“I have a full squad to choose from again for Saturday, with Shozza (Will Shorrock) the only absentee.

“Shozza should be back training very very soon, which is great news following his injury on New Year’s Day.

“Squad-wise, we are in good shape – however, there will be an injection of bodies to add to the group to cover all possibilities as we enter the run in.

“The form we are in is very encouraging and we seem to be improving all the time, so that’s very positive.
