Gosport goes into Saturday’s crucial game against Staines at Wheatsheaf Park desperate for a win to lift spirits after last Saturday’s dismal game against Merthyr, that saw BORO’ fail to climb out of the last relegation spot with only 3 games remaining.
Player / Manager Craig McAllister needs a reaction from his team, and it has to be immediate if we are to secure the points needed to have any hope of staying in the premier division.
How many points needed to avoid relegation is debatable, depending on what the other teams' results are particularly the Casuals, but it surely has to be 6 points from a possible 9 at least!
Can the BORO’ turn the season around and grab the points needed to secure premiership football next season, which is the very minimum we expected back in August at the start of the campaign?.....
Yes - Yes they can but they need to prove it on Saturday.
‘The Swans’ have had a dismal campaign so far and probably can’t wait for the season to end, with only pride to play for in their remaining games.
However this lack of pressure on the home side could work in their favour, so the BORO’ will need to ensure that they take nothing for granted and work their socks off to deliver the result that will take the team into Bank Holiday Monday with everything still to play for.
Walton Casuals are away to Salisbury on Saturday, followed by a home game on Monday against Kings Langley, before their final away game at Merthyr next Saturday.
BORO’ have a six-pointer against Wimborne on Monday in the last home game this season, before our final game away to the Met Police next Saturday.
