Play-Off Final
TOM Killick says Poole's fans have a big role to play again today in the Southern League South play-off final.
Poole saw off Taunton on penalties last week to set up another trip on the road at Met Police , with the winners moving through to the ‘super play-off’ final with a spot in National League South up for grabs.
And boss Killick admits it has taken a big effort to get Dolphins into this position after a poor first half of the campaign.
He said: “At around January time it appeared our season was somewhat over. We weren’t putting in consistent performances, and we were far away from the playoff picture.
However, I still believed that the players had it in them to get into the playoffs, and I’m proud that they’ve proven me right.”
Dolphins beat Met Police 2-1 just last month, but Killick is taking nothing for granted at Imber Court.
“We all know how tough it will be to get a result,” said Killick.
“It’s going to take maximum effort from everyone involved, including supporters.
“I thought in the win against Taunton they were fantastic. They gave us that extra bit, and that’s what helped us over the line. We need them to be at their best again if we’re to win.”
Victory for Dolphins would set up a winner-takes-all clash against either Tonbridge Angels or Merstham on Saturday.
