Striker Michael Campbell Returns to The Row

Hartley Wintney's top goalscorer in 2018/19 rejoins the Hampshire club

Very popular in the dressing room and with the fans; he's just the kind of character we need

Last season's top goalscorer for Hartley Wintney, Michael Campbell, has agreed to rejoin the Hampshire club, ahead of the league game away to Salisbury.

The popular striker delighted the Hartley faithful last season with his workrate, commitment and goals, and he is sure to be very warmly welcomed back after leaving at the end of last season due to travelling and work commitments. He initially joined Hendon FC in the closed season, the club being closer to home, but departed The Greens shortly after. Hartley Wintney Manager, Anthony Millerick, persuaded the player affectionately known as Mikey to return to The Row, who had two strikers depart the club shortly into the season.

Millerick was delighted that Michael agreed to return.

"Michael is a great lad, very hard working, very popular in the dressing room and with the fans; he's just the kind of character we need. He has a great personality to go with his pace and ability on the pitch, and for a manager that's a great combination."

Michael (30) began his career at Croydon and has played for Carshalton Athletic, Redhill and Staines Town amongst others.
