Tuesday saw BetVictor Southern League Division One Central Thame United progress through in their Buildbase FA Trophy Preliminary Round replay against Southern League Division One South visitors Winchester City.
In an eight-goal thriller, Dan West gave the hosts an early 7th-minute lead that Jamie Essex doubled 5 minutes later. Jamie Barron reduced the deficit in the 28th minute but just 2 minutes later, Greg Hackett restored Thame`s two-goal cushion which Tom Ashworth stretched to three just 4 minutes on. Barron pulled a second back for the visitors immediately after half-time but Hackett made it 5-2 on 77 minutes, rendering sub-Rob Carr`s stoppage-time third as just a consolation effort.
Thame will now host Southern Division One South leaders Frome Town in the next round on October 26th.
