Vastly experienced Keeper signs for Nuneaton Borough

Squad boost

BetVictor Southern League Premier Division club Nuneaton Borough have strengthened their goalkeeping ranks with TWO new signings. Joining from league rivals Bromsgrove Sporting is the vastly experienced Tony Breeden.

The 31-year-old signed for Sporting in July after ending his third spell with National League North side Leamington.

He became one of a select few to make over 300 appearances for the Brakes since the renaissance in 2000. He has previously turned out for Rushall Olympic, Sutton Coldfield Town, Kidderminster Harriers, Tamworth and Solihull Moors in between his spells with the Brakes.

Returning to Nuneaton on dual registration with Total Motion Midland League Division One side Hinckley AFC is Ty Belford. Belford is a former Coventry City and Liverpool youngster who re-joined Hinckley shortly after brother Courtney was appointed a manager in the summer of 2019. Initially joined when his other sibling, Dale, was appointed manager two seasons earlier, having spent the early part of the season at Nuneaton. Left the Anfield ranks, he spent three seasons with Swindon Town, during which time he made 22 first-team appearances for the Robins before a loan spell at Southport.

After leaving the County Ground, he spent time with Oxford City. Between spells with Hinckley, he played for Swindon Supermarine and Romulus before returning to Nuneaton in their relegation season from the National League North.

He has also represented England at Under-16 and under-17 level.
