Penalty decides local bragging rights

Boxing Day - Local Derby

Rushall Olympic FC - Media Team

It was a penalty which decided the derby at Rushall as 619 saw a hard-fought slog in the rain. What proved to be the only goal arrived 2 minutes after half-time when Jon Letford was adjudged to have been fouled by Hednesford `keeper Andy Wycherley and Sam Whittall coolly converted the resulting spot-kick.

But on 65 minutes, the Pics went down to ten-men when Alex Moore was yellow carded for ‘simulation’ after being booked earlier in the game. However, the home side held firm for three points which leaves them in the tenth spot, but only four points off a top-five place in a really tight division.
