BetVictor Southern League Division One Central promotion-chasers Halesowen Town pulled off a Buildbase FA Trophy upset on Tuesday night by ousting Vanarama National League side Maidenhead United from the competition in their Second Round replay at York Road.
The Yeltz bridged the three-division gap to face another National League outfit, FC Halifax Town, in the Third Round at The Shay. And to achieve their triumph over Alan Devonshire`s men, they had to come back from being a 16th minute Danny Whitehall goal behind.
But when Robbie Bunn hit the bar 2 minutes into the second half, the large Halesowen following wondered if it wasn`t going to be their night. However, the equaliser finally arrived on the hour-mark when a free-kick from sub-Josh Hawker was headed past Fred Chapman in the Magpies goal by skipper Paul McCone.
And just 4 minutes later, Rob Evans put the visitors in front with a cracking drive from 25 yards. The tie was won with 6 minutes remaining when Luke Yates crossed for fellow sub-McKauley Manning to head home.
