Stratford Town bring in experienced defenders

Two centre backs join

BetVictor Southern League Premier Division Central club Stratford Town have brought in two experienced defenders.


Michael Townsend arrives having only recently signed for Total Motion Midland League Premier Division side Walsall Wood from Stratford`s league rivals Coalville Town.


The experienced centre-half signed for the Ravens in November from Midland League Division One outfit Hinckley AFC.


The imposing defender made over 100 appearances for both Cheltenham Town and Hereford United in the Football League whilst also playing for the likes of Rushall Olympic, Sutton Coldfield Town and Barwell.


Dominic Perkins is a big, tall defender who has had a well-travelled career around the Midlands non-League scene since starting out at Birmingham City as a youngster.


A strong character who is a versatile player capable of playing at centre-back, left-back or central midfield


After spells with Boldmere St Michaels, Redditch United, Heather St John`s, Alvechurch, Bedworth United and Hinckley AFC, he joined Uhlsport United Counties League Premier Division outfit Rugby Town in July 2018 and left in May 2019, returning for a second spell with Midland League Premier Division side Romulus.
