Chairman Statement v Beaconsfield Town FC

Club Statement

Regrettably, Vice Chairman Richard Gale, and I had to deal with some unacceptable behaviour from a small number of so-called Poole “supporters” on Saturday at Beaconsfield. We are proud of our status as a Charter Standard Community Club and are putting in a huge effort to engage with the wider community through the Kids Initiative, and our “Boot Room” both of which are driven by Richard’s passion to help the youth of the Town.

The disrespect shown to our opponents and the generally offensive behaviour of three individuals, in particular, fell a long way short of the standards with which we want the Club to be associated.

To the Beaconsfield officials, supporters and stewards I can only apologise and reiterate that this is not what we as a Club are about. To our own supporters who were upset by the behaviour and by being associated with it I say - we will not put up with this and we have banned those responsible from the Black Gold.

The RWA needs to be able to sing its heart out in support of the team knowing that none of its numbers will resort to unacceptable conduct such as to bring about criticism of the Club that we just do not want to hear still less for it to be warranted.
