Late Signings

A few late movers before the deadline.

Although the season has been ended prematurely due to the coronavirus, several clubs made new signings ahead of the registration deadline.

Amongst those making moves was striker OIu Akinsanya, who signed for BetVictor Southern League Premier Division Central club Barwell.

The 25-year-old moved up to Leicestershire from Isthmian League Premier Division side Wingate & Finchley.

He had joined Wingate in October 2019 from Isthmian South Central outfit Ware.

Akinsanya had signed for Ware in the summer of 2019 from Spartan South Midlands Leaguers Brimsdown.

He previously played for Maldon & Tiptree, Staines Town, Chalfont St Peter, Cambridge City, Hayes & Yeading United and Cheshunt.

Southern League Premier Division South side Salisbury brought in defender Ashley Wells from National League South neighbours Weymouth.

The 28-year-old, who has over 300 Weymouth appearances to his name, has had spells at Dorchester Town and Wimborne Town this season in a bid to sustain his match fitness.

A local Dorset boy who can play anywhere across the backline, he is a skillful defender with plenty of pace and enthusiasm.

He signed for Weymouth from Wessex League side Portland United in February 2012.

Berkhamsted, who were looking good for a promotion spot in the Southern League Division One Central before the virus struck, brought back defender Kyle Lincoln for a second spell from Southern Premier Division Central side Stratford Town.

The 31-year-old left-back joined Stratford from rivals Bromsgrove Sporting in September 2019.

He had signed for the Rouslers in February 2019 from Dunstable Town, who suffered relegation to the Spartan South Midlands League at the end of that season.

He numbers Biggleswade United, Leighton Town, AFC Dunstable, Hitchin Town, Barton Rovers, Bedford Town and Crawley Green amongst his other former clubs.
