Defender Joe Lea and striker Pat Suraci have returned to Southern League Premier Division South club Gosport Borough in dual roles.

Having come through the academy with Premier League Southampton, Lea played at Yeovil Town in the EFL.

After a short spell with Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Bognor Regis Town, he arrived at Privett Park in 2017 and soon established himself as a fans’ favourite.

He left Boro’ last November to sign for Blackfield & Langley, but head coach Shaun Gale was keen to bring him back as a player.

Suraci was on dual registration with Blackfield & Langley and Vanarama National League South side Weymouth.

He joined the Terras in December 2019, scoring on his debut, before making the move to the Watersiders a week later for more regular football.

Also originally with Southampton, he first joined Gosport in 2016 and then had a spell with Belgian second-tier outfit Lommel United before returning to England to play for Bognor in 2018.

He had a spell on loan at Weymouth before returning to Gosport where, in 2018/19, he scored 12 goals. However, towards the end of November, he decided to leave Boro and was given a chance by the Terras.

Suraci remained at Gosport to help set up the centre of excellence and he now runs it with Joe Lea.
