Yaxley Make Young Forward`s Move a More Permanent One

First new Cuckoo.

Southern League Division One Central club Yaxley have signed young forward Sam Bennett on a permanent basis following his release by SkyBet League Two side Cambridge United.

The 19-year-old failed to make the senior side at the Abbey Stadium but has experience in non-League football.

In January 2019, he joined then-Isthmian League North side Mildenhall Town
on `work experience`.

He was leading scorer for Cambridge`s under-18 side at the time, with his double-figure tally including two hat-tricks.

In November 2019, Bennett joined Yaxley on loan having just completed a similar spell with league rivals St Neots Town, where he made 14 appearances and scored 2 goals.

He played 18 times for the Cuckoos and scored an impressive 5 times.
