Thirteen Players Commit to Bedworth for 2020/21

Majority re-sign for Greenbacks.

Southern League Division One Central club Bedworth United have announced that no less than thirteen of last season`s squad have agreed to return to the Oval for 2020/21.

Goalkeeper Dan Crane, who returned to the club after taking a brief foray into managing being the assistant at Midland League Premier Division side Gresley, has decided that it`s not time to hang up the gloves yet.

Crane has been joined by Reece Blackmore, who will be entering his fourth season with Bedworth, Luke Rowe, a local lad who has grown in stature under the guidance of the coaching team, Richard Blythe, who returned to the club last term after a season at Rugby Town and Cal Templeton, who has represented Northern Ireland at both under-17 and under-19 level and is a product of Leicester City academy.

Also putting pen-to-paper is Blaize Punter, who joined the Greenbacks halfway through last season and is an Antigua & Barbuda international, Lynus King, who joined from Oadby Town, Ricardo Dudley, a talented player comfortable either at right-back or centre-back who joined Bedworth at the beginning of the 2017/18 promotion season from Boldmere St Michaels, the much-travelled Mitch Piggon, who has already written his name in the Greenbacks history books having scored in the play-off final against Beaconsfield SYCOB, Luke Keen, a proven goalscorer at this level, and Olly Mulders, who signed for Bedworth just before Christmas 2019.

Josh Steel, another young player who has developed under the coaching staff at Bedworth, has re-signed having spent part of last season on loan at Midland League neighbours Coventry Sphinx where he played 15 games and will be looking to break into the Greenbacks this season, while Liam Truslove, a midfielder who came through the youth system at Birmingham City, signed for Bedworth at the start of 2020 and made his debut as a sub in the home game against Barton Rovers, has also re-signed.
