Tuesday`s Pre-Season Friendly Review

A round-up of the latest behind-closed-doors games.

Of the Southern Premier Division Central sides in action, Alvechurch were given a glimpse of why Halesowen Town will be one of the firm favourites to win promotion from the Southern Division One Central as the Yeltz won 4-1 at Lye Meadow.

A Richard Gregory brace and singles from Dan Westwood and Paul McCone were the visitors` marksmen, with a header from Kevin De Monteiro in response.

New-look Redditch United shared a 3-3 draw at the Jubilee Stadium against Southern Division One South outfit Evesham United.

Alex Cameron, Kyle Perry and Dan Sweeney had the Reds 3-1 up at one stage before Evesham fought back to level through a Jamie Lucas penalty, Josh Hunt and Dan Tustin.

Nuneaton Borough had a much more comfortable evening in the sun, hammering Midland League Division One neighbours Nuneaton Griff 9-0 at Liberty Way.

The Boro goals came courtesy of braces for Ryan Edmunds and former Premier League star Leroy Lita and Luke Benbow and singles for Ravi Shamsi, Jamie Hood and an un-named triallist.

Bromsgrove Sporting secured a 3-0 win at another Midland League Division One outfit, Studley.

Two headers from Leon Broadhurst and a goal from a triallist sealed Sporting`s win.

Hednesford Town won 4-1 at Studley`s league rivals Heath Hayes.

A Dan Turner double along with efforts from George Cater and Rhys Thompson saw the Pitmen to victory, despite the hosts taking an early lead.

Stratford Town were beaten 2-0 at the Arden Garages Stadium by Midland League Premier Division Worcester City.

Goals in either half from Liam Lockett and Sean Brain secured City`s win.

Of the Southern League Premier Division South sides in Tuesday action, Wimborne Town won some early silverware by claiming the Steve Moore Challenge Cup against Wessex One outfit Verwood Town with a 2-1 win.

An un-named triallist gave the Magpies a 3rd minute lead with an unstoppable shot from 20 yards.

But Verwood equalised through Diop Evans to make it 1-1 at the break.

Curtis Young scored what proved to be the Wimborne winner in the second half.

Truro City also have a new trophy in their boardroom after a 5-2 away victory over South West Peninsula League side Falmouth Town to reclaim the Aubrey Wilkes Trophy.

Goals from Alex Battle, Tyler Harvey, Dan Rooney, and a brace from Rocky Neal guided the White Tigers to victory against their neighbours at Bickland Park.

Swindon Supermarine enjoyed a 6-1 win at the Corinium Stadium against Southern Division One South hosts Cirencester Town.

A brace from Conor McDonagh, Jack Stanley, Zac Kotwica, Brad Hooper and a Shayne Anson own goal accounted for the `Marine goals, with their former striker, Josh Parsons, netting the hosts consolation.

Supermarine`s league rivals Tiverton Town also hit six at South West Peninsula League side Cullompton Rangers.

An Alex Fletcher brace and singles for Chris Shephard, Joe Bastin, Levi Landricombe and an own goal were the Tivvy men on the mark.

Harrow Borough shared a 3-3 draw at Combined Counties League Premier Division Colliers Wood United, while Yate Town won 4-1 at Southern Division One South side Slimbridge.

A Craig Norman brace alongside strikes from Will Tinnicliff and a Dave Sims-Burgess penalty saw Yate to victory, while Will Hawes replied for the Swans.

Taunton Town shared a 2-2 draw at the Hand Stadium against Western League Premier Division Clevedon Town.

Luke Spokes and Aaron Bentley were the Peacocks` on target.

Of the Southern Division One South sides in Tuesday action, AFC Totton won 3-0 at Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) One outfit Fawley AFC.

Sam Griffin with two and Brett Williams had the Stags three-up at the break before the usual plethora of second have changes.

Frome Town won 4-0 against Toolstation Western League Division One side Warminster Town.

A first half hat-trick from Kane Simpson and one from Jon Davies secured the Somerset side`s win.

Basingstoke Town went goal crazy against Combined Counties Premier Division side Knaphill, running out 10-3 winners.

Winchester City shared a 1-1 draw with Wessex Premier side Fareham Town.

Josh McCormick gave City a second half lead before Fareham levelled near the end when Charlie Philpott saved a penalty only for the rebound to be converted.

Southern Division One Central teams in action included Aylesbury United, who were at Spartan South Midlands Division One Winslow United.

The Ducks drew a blank as the game meandered into a 0-0 draw.

Biggleswade FC took on Spartan South Midlands Premier Division Newport Pagnell Town at Willen Road.

After finding themselves 2-0 down, Tom Coles pulled one back for the visitors right on half-time.

The Swans made it 3-1 in the second period before a Ryan Inskip free-kick from the edge of the box near the end made the final score 3-2 to Pagnell.
