Southern League Premier Division Central club Stourbridge have signed experienced midfielder Ellis Deeney from Vanarama National League North side AFC Telford United.

The 28-year-old joined the Bucks in January 2018 from Tamworth for an undisclosed fee.

He began his career at Aston Villa, captaining their academy side and reaching the FA Youth Cup final in 2010, losing to Chelsea.

After being released by Villa, he spent time at Kettering Town and Hinckley United before signing for Worcester City.

He eventually became club captain and won the club’s player of the year award during his four seasons with City before signing for Tamworth in January 2015.

He is the younger brother of Watford striker Troy Deeney.
