Tuesday`s Pre-Season Friendly Round-Up

A review of the games involving Southern League clubs.

Of the Premier Division Central teams in action, Coalville Town won 1-0 at Southern Division One Central side Bedworth United, courtesy of a second half goal from Tim Berridge.

Banbury United were once again on goal trail as they hammered Southern Division One Central side Wantage Town 6-1 at The Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium.

Player/assistant-manager James Constable bagged a brace and there were singles for Amer Awadh, Kevin Langmead, Giorgio Rasulo and Pablo Haysham.

Hitchin Town produced a good performance to win 6-1 at Southern Division One Central promotion fancies Bedford Town.

Luke Brown and Alex Marsh with braces, Jhai Dhillon and Lawrie Marsh with singles for the Canaries and Connor Tomlinson with the Eagles` consolation.

Stourbridge continued their unbeaten pre-season run with a 2-1 victory over Vanarama National League North side Hereford FC at the War Memorial Athletic Ground.

The visitors took an early lead through a triallist but Mark Yates' side were back on level terms shortly after the break with a goal from Richard Peniket.

The Glassboys claimed victory in the final 10 minutes as Greg Mills scored from the penalty spot.

Royston Town won 3-1 against Southern Division One Central outfit Barton Rovers at Garden Walk.

Jonny Edwards netted a hat-trick for the Crows.

There was a shock though for St Ives Town as they went down to a 6-2 defeat to Isthmian North side Soham Town Rangers at Westwood Road.

Former Saints midfielder bagged two penalties for the Greens.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds eased to a 5-1 win at Hayden Road against United Counties League Division One landlords Rushden & Higham United.

Tom Lorraine with two, Bailey Wetherley and two from triallists were the Diamonds on the mark.

Rushall Olympic edged out Southern Division One Central Coleshill Town at Dales Lane.

A double for Rackeem Reid and one from Alex Moore were the Pics on target, with Daniel Dubidat and Gio Dainty on target for the Colemen.

Alvechurch were 3-1 victors at Northern Premier Division One South East side Chasetown.

Josh Cooke, Jake Wakeling and Kyle McFarlane scored the `Church goals.

Amongst the Premier Division South sides to play on Tuesday were Wimborne Town, who beat Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) outfit Ringwood Town 6-3.

The Magpies scored through Jake Sinclair and Callum Chugg scored in the first half and then Aidan Shepherd with two, Joe Freak and Addwell Chipangura added four more in the second period.

Poole Town were also in action against Wessex League opposition in Verwood Town and ran out 4-2 winners.

All six goals came in the opening 45 minutes, with Bailey Rowe, Tyler Forbes and Will Fletcher with two, including a penalty for the Dolphins.

Despite falling behind to a first-minute Max Hercules effort, Chesham United beat Southern Division One Central side Aylesbury United 3-1 at the Meadow.

A brace for Dernell Wynter and one from Zak Joseph turned the game in the Generals` favour.

Taunton Town ran out 5-1 winners against Southern Division One South visitors Bideford in a game held behind closed doors.

Toby Holmes with two, Nick Grimes, Luke Spokes and Ollie Chamberlain were the Peacocks` scorers.

Gosport Borough went down to a 4-0 defeat to a strong team from League One neighbours Portsmouth.

Dorchester Town were beaten 3-1 at the Avenue Stadium by National League South side Hungerford Town.

Tom Bath scored the Magpies` consolation.

Weston-super-Mare won 2-0 at the Causeway against Southern Division One South hosts Cinderford Town.

Of the Division One Central teams in action, Corby Town beat Northern Premier League Division One South East side Stamford AFC 1-0 at Steel Park with a first half goal from Charlie Wise.

FA Trophy semi-finalists Halesowen Town held National League North side Kettering Town to a 2-2 draw at The Grove.

The Yeltz equalised in the very last minute after Ben Milnes and Dan Holman had put the Poppies 2-1 ahead.

Biggleswade FC were 5-3 winners at Spartan South Midlands Leaguers Stotfold.

Alan Fleming with a brace, including a spot-kick, Tom Coles, Kaan Fehmi and a triallist were the visitors` marksmen.

The only downside for Biggleswade was the dismissal of Dylan Switters.

Kempston Rovers won 2-1 against Bedfordshire County League Premier Division minnows Cranfield United.

Berkhamsted secured a 3-1 win at Manor Fields against Spartan South Midlands outfit MK Irish.

Lewis Toomey, Alex Witham and Romario Hart with the Berko goals.

The Division One South teams to play on Tuesday included AFC Totton, who produced a good performance but were unable to grab an equaliser as National League South side Weymouth edged a 1-0 win at the Snows Stadium.

It was new signing Cody Cooke who grabbed the only goal of the game just past the hour-mark.

Bristol Manor Farm won 3-1 at Toolstation Western League Division One outfit Bishop Sutton.

Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist, Jamie Bird and Niall Gray with the visitors` goals.

Slimbridge beat Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One West side Shortwood United 4-0.

Rhys Sarson with two, Dean Turner and Jamie Martin with the Swans` goals.

Winchester City won 2-1 at Isthmian South Central Marlow.
