Gary Meakin, manager of Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Beaconsfield Town, has added two new players to his squad, including the evergreen Jefferson Louis.
Now 41 years young, Louis was playing in the Vanarama National League South in 2019/20, firstly with Hampton & Richmond Borough, who he joined exactly a year ago after leaving Chesham United, and then with St Albans City from Christmas onwards.
He had originally signed for Chesham in December 2017 from Banbury United and spent the rest of the 2017/18 season with the Generals before a short spell at Farnborough, re-joining Chesham in September 2018.
During his long career he has played for no less than 38 clubs including Football League appearances for Oxford United, Bristol Rovers and Mansfield Town, and also played for Dominica in a World Cup qualifier in 2008.
Meakin said: "Jeff is one that I have chased a few times and never managed to get him! He will give us a different dimension now that he is here."
Meakin managed to obtain another long-term target in left-back Ollie Sprague.
The 26-year-old was with Louis at St Albans last season, also joining in June 2019 from rivals Hampton.
He re-united with manager Gary McCann at Hampton following his spell at Hendon in the summer of 2018.
He started out at Chelsea, Queens Park Rangers and Watford as a youngster and also played in Cyprus for Aspis Pyla.
He has also played for Northwood, Welling United and Billericay Town where he won the Isthmian Premier title.
Meakin added: "Olli is one that I have tried to sign nearly every pre-season since being a manager, and finally he has seen sense! He will add good quality to us at both ends of the pitch".
