Pitching In Southern Football League Division One Central club Welwyn Garden City have made four new signings ahead of the big kick-off.

Manager Nick Ironton has signed Jo Takai, Abhushan Pant, Greg Adinna and Miguel Lopes De Matos.

A Japanese national, Takai has previously been with Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Wingate & Finchley.

He has played in Germany with Arnoldsweiler as well as in the fourth tier of Japanese football with Reinmeer Aomori, Briobe Urayasu and Yokohama Marinos.

Full-back Pant has re-joined the Citizens.

The former Waltham Abbey and Oxhey Jets player had a spell at Herns Lane towards the end of last season and played once in the first team.

Nepal born Pant has lived in the UK since he was young child, and has trained with the Nepalese national squad.

Lively young forward Adinna is another to re-sign after the former Barnet youngster also had a handful of games in the first-team last season.

He is currently recovering from a operation on his right knee but Ironton hopes he`ll be back in action in around a month.

Lopes De Matos is a 24-year-old Portuguese defender or winger who joined Isthmian South Central club Northwood in July 2018 from Staines Town.

He has also had spells with Potters Bar Town, Waltham Forest, Waltham Abbey and Romford.
