Guadeloupe International Signs for AFC Totton

Short spell with Gosport ends.

Pitching In Southern Football League Division One South club AFC Totton have signed vastly experienced Guadeloupe international defender Stephane Zubar.

The 34-year-old began his career with French club Caen but was released after loan spells at Championnat National club Pau and Belgian First Division side Brussels.

He spent the 2009/10 season with Romanian Liga I club Vaslui, who won the 2010 Cupa României.

He signed for Plymouth Argyle in November 2010 and moved on to AFC Bournemouth in September 2011.

He was loaned out to Bury in January 2013, Port Vale in September 2014 and York City in November 2014.

He returned to York on loan in August 2015 but returned to the Cherries after he suffered a cruciate ligament injury.

He was released by Bournemouth at the end of 2015/16 season and signed for Weymouth. But in the summer 2017, he left the Terras to seek professional football again with Yeovil Town but returned to Weymouth in November 2017.

Capped twice by Guadeloupe in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, he helped Weymouth to promotion to the National League before announcing his retirement last month.

However, he quickly changed his mind and signed for Southern Premier Division South outfit Gosport Borough.
