Plenty of New Faces at Redditch

Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central club Redditch United have announced several new signings as manager Matt Clarke continues to adds to his squad.

Attacking midfielder Tiago Nassunculo joins the Reds having been on the books at Northern Premier League Division One South East side Wisbech Town last season, making 21 appearances and scoring 4 goals before lockdown.

He had signed for the Fenmen in September 2019 from Redditch`s league rivals Peterborough Sports.

He came through the Grantham Town academy to the fringes of their first team and was loaned out to United Counties League side Boston Town in late 2018.

He scored 10 goals in 13 appearances for the Poachers before moving on to Sports in the summer of 2019.

Another attacking midfielder joining the Reds is Roger Ngaah Bosio.

The 21-year-old Spaniard made 15 appearances and scored one goal for league rivals Banbury United last season.

Before coming over to England, he turned out for Spanish sides Paterna, Los Silos, Burjassot, Tavernes Blanques and CD Serranos.

Four players have signed for the Reds after being with `mothballed` Southern Premier Division South side Merthyr Town.

Ben Swallow is an experienced 30-year-old wide player who signed for Merthyr in July 2019 on a permanent basis from league rivals Weston-super-Mare.

He made 10 appearances in 2018/19 whilst on loan from the then-Vanarama National League South Seagulls.

He began his career at Bristol Rovers, learning his trade on numerous loan spells with various non-League clubs around the South West, including Taunton Town, Bridgwater Town, Chippenham Town, Mangotsfield United and Bath City before notching up 40 senior appearances for The Gas.

He departed the Memorial Stadium in 2012 and turned out for the likes of York City, Newport County, Bromley, Havant & Waterlooville and Bognor Regis Town, signing for Weston in July 2018.

He made his debut for the Wales semi-professional side for the match against Turkey in October 2012 whilst on Newport`s books.

Midfielder Elias Youssef has also made the switch from the unfortunate Martyrs, unable to play this season because of the lockdown restraints in Wales.

The 20-year-old had only signed for Merthyr in July.

He made 27 appearances for Chippenham Town in the National League South in 2019/20 before lockdown.

He signed for the Bluebirds in the summer of 2019 after being released by League Two side Forest Green Rovers, where he progressed through the ranks at The New Lawn after starting out on the books of Cardiff City.

In 2018/19, he had a loan spell with Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Royal Wootton Bassett Town.

Wide player Tim Hillman is another who had only made the move to Penydarren Park in the summer.

The 19-year-old had joined the Martyrs from Southern Division One South side Larkhall Athletic.

He had signed for the Larks in November 2019 from rivals Mangotsfield United.

He had re-joined the Mangos in July 2019 following his release by League Two side Newport County.

A tricky winger, he made his debut for the first team in the Checkatrade Trophy against Cheltenham Town in November 2017, but that was his only senior outing for the Exiles.

He spent from February to the end of the 2018/19 season on loan with the Mangos and was a very popular figure at Cossham Street.

The 23-year-old was with National League Maidenhead United since July 2019 after leaving then-Championship side Fulham.

He began his career at Bristol City, playing within their youth set-up, before moving to West London in 2016.

He gained National League experience when he made a loan move to Maidstone United, making 14 appearances in the 2018/19 season.

He made six EFL Trophy and over 50 Premier League 2 appearances.
